
An unknown person placed a stone on the railway tracks near Maintal and fled. The police are now looking for the suspected teenager.
Hanau – The dangerous incident on the railway line from Hanau towards Maintal caused a stir on Tuesday afternoon (May 12th). The police are investigating suspected dangerous interference with rail traffic. At around 5 p.m., a train driver noticed a person dressed in dark clothing near Salisweg, who may have been a teenager, according to the police.
Stone on the tracks – the train driver stops the passenger train in time
The unknown person is said to have placed something on the tracks and then fled into nearby bushes. The train driver then made the emergency call, drove on sight and finally stopped the passenger train for safety reasons. A patrol responded and found a gravel stone on the tracks. The officers searched the area for the fugitive, but without success.
The railway line had to be closed for around half an hour before traffic could be reopened. The police are asking witnesses who can provide information about the unknown person to call (06181) 100123.
In addition The railway line between Fulda and Bebra will be closed for two weeks in the summer: Deutsche Bahn (DB InfraGo) is comprehensively renovating the route.
