Menowin Fröhlich is baaaaack – and rightly so!
At least that's what Dieter Bohlen says, who turns out to be a big fan of the singer. In the interview, he tells us what makes the DSDS finalist so special and why the pop titan gets very wistful shortly before the big showdown.
For Dieter Bohlen, Menowin Fröhlich’s performance is simply “sensationally awesome”
Dieter Bohlen knows Menowin Fröhlich for many years. Because the 38-year-old is DSDS repeat offender. He took part in 2005, but left the show early because he was under investigation. In 2010 he tried his luck again and secured second place.
In 2026 Menowin will be in the final again. “I think he is much, much better,” explains Dieter Bohlen in an RTL interview after the semi-finals. The musician simply brings the entire package with him: “Recognizable, how he moves, how he lives these songs on stage, how he dances… This doesn't look like a jerboa that they've taught anything. He brings it across in such a relaxed, fluffy way. That’s just my opinion, but it blows me away every time.”

Ultimately, it was also Dieter's idea to give Menowin another chance at the casting in Cologne. “He has become thinner and thinner, but his voice has become fatter”enthuses the music producer while playing Menowin's sales success to. And what he particularly likes is that he also dares to do something: “He sometimes sings older songs that many people don't even know anymore. But he just does it in a really sensational way.”

Dieter Bohlen is looking forward to the DSDS finale – despite a small downside
After the second live show we are rapidly approaching the finale. And that makes Dieter Bohlen a little wistful. “I'll miss him. If there's another season without Menowin… So you just want candidates like that who have what it takes.”
Nevertheless, there is of course great anticipation for next Saturday: “He'll put everything he's got into it again. I think it'll be a great finale. I'm really looking forward to it.” Grinning, he adds again: “The only thing that makes me sad is that I won’t see Menowin anymore.” In the best case scenario, he will at least hear from his protégé…
