The US President attacks German Chancellor Friedrich Merz with clear criticism. The trigger for his outburst of anger is the CDU leader's actions in the Iran war.
Donald Trump with a sharp attack on Friedrich Merz
US President Donald Trump sharply attacked Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) after his criticism of the US actions in the Iran war. “German Chancellor Friedrich Merz thinks it's okay for Iran to have nuclear weapons. He doesn't know what he's talking about!” Trump said on Tuesday on his online platform Truth Social.

Merz said at a school event with a view to the United States that “an entire nation is being humiliated by the Iranian government.” The Chancellor also said that “the Americans obviously have no strategy.”

In the Iran war there had been clear differences between the USA and the Europeans. The war was triggered by attacks by the USA and Israel on Iran on February 28th. Tehran responded with attacks on Israel as well as several Gulf states and US facilities in the Gulf region. (fkl/afp)
