The fire department was called to a fire in Dipperz on Sunday evening. Suddenly the rescuers had to be rescued themselves – the flames had trapped them in the house.
Dipperz – At around 6.30 p.m. the control center message with the keyword F2 was received by the emergency services. The fire brigades from Dipperz, Dietershausen responded with a total of around 60 people as well as Hofbieber and turntable ladder out of. On site, smoke and the first flames came from an apartment building in the Külos district of Dipperz, as Christian Maul, deputy community fire inspector in Dipperz, reported on site.

A first fire-fighting team entered the building. The helpers discovered, among other things, several gas bottles that they took out of the house. When they wanted to put out the flames, they suddenly found themselves exposed to a danger that was rare even for fire rescue workers. According to Christian Maul, the fire had spread so much that the helpers were unable to get back out of the building.
She had to be rescued from the back of the building using a ladder. “It’s relatively rare for us to see a squad end up in such danger,” reports community fire inspector Maul.
In the meantime, the fire had burned through a wall and spread to a second apartment. The residents were no longer in the building from the start, so no one was injured. Additional firefighting teams brought the flames under control, and the emergency services were still busy extinguishing the fire in the evening.
