Prince Philip (1921-2021) was considered an important mentor to Princess Kate (44) – especially during her early days in the royal family. He is said to have told her a golden rule that Prince William's wife should adhere to to this day.
Prince Philip and Kate had a special relationship
Pictures from the past often show how warmly Prince Philip and Princess Kate treated each other – they sit next to each other, whisper, laugh.
