
Eiterfeld opens its doors for the spring market. A colorful program and many attractions await visitors on Sunday.
pus field – With a colorful program, open shops and a freshly renovated Bahnhofstrasse, Eiterfeld invites you to the spring market this Sunday (March 22nd).. As the local trade association reports, the motto of the day is “Free travel into spring” and is intended to offer visitors from near and far a lively start to the new season.
The market takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Along Bahnhofstrasse, which is now free of construction sites after a long beautification phase, many stand operators are presenting one of the region's first open-air offerings. According to the trade association, there will be no duplicate product ranges so that visitors can browse through as wide a variety as possible.

Household goods, garden items, decorations, jewelry, textiles, leather goods, spices and confectionery are offered. At the same time, the shops invite you to do extensive shopping and advertise special promotions. Local butchers and restaurateurs take care of your physical well-being and offer special dishes in addition to classics such as bratwurst, steak and fries. Nobody has to go home hungry at 6 p.m., the statement says.
There are sweets in the district court, where the Cäcilia mixed choir sells homemade cakes and tarts. Experience has shown that the most popular pieces are largely sold out by coffee time. One focus of the program is on offerings for children. An entertainment program with various attractions awaits the youngest.
In the parking lot of the market arcade is Captain Ballon, who makes figures and other works of art out of balloons. Face painting, craft activities and a bobby car race are offered at the Rewe market on the outskirts of town. Villa Phantasia has confirmed its attendance. There will be numerous other opportunities to keep children busy along the market route so that parents can stroll around in a relaxed manner.
Roads closed in Eiterfeld on Sunday
The trade association expects many visitors at the end of March, despite the often still cool temperatures. “We are hoping for nice weather so that it will be a great start to spring,” says Michael Hofmann from the trade association. In addition to the market, there is a shuttle bus that runs throughout the day.
Extensive traffic regulations apply to those arriving by car. The streets “Am District Court” and Bahnhofstraße, starting at the intersection in the center of the town until it joins Settlement Street, are closed on Sundays from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The parking spaces at the district court building and at the town hall are also not available.
Through traffic on Bahnhofstrasse will be redirected via Fürstenecker Strasse, Lindenallee andsiedlungsstrasse. Parking is available in the “Am Hain” leisure area, “Am Badepark”, in the “Im Leibolzgraben” business park as well as at the fire station in Arzell and at the multi-purpose hall.
