
The renovation of the retaining wall on federal highway 254 in Fulda is entering its final phase. In order to prepare the previously removed traffic island, half of Frankfurter Straße will be closed again.
Fulda – Frankfurter Straße will be partially closed from Wednesday (March 18th) until probably March 27th. Hessen Mobil announced this in a press release. The background is the renewal of a retaining wall on Frankfurter Straße that is in need of renovationwhich Hessen Mobil started in August 2025.
Due to construction work: Frankfurter Straße is partially closed
According to the road construction authority, the measure has now progressed to such an extent that the traffic island that was removed for construction work can be restored. This requires a unilateral closure with one-way traffic regulations for around a week and a half.
During the corresponding period, Frankfurter Straße is closed in the direction of travel from the Bronnzeller roundabout northwards to Kohlhäuser Straße. The diversion takes place via the Bronnzeller roundabout via B 27 and Kohlhäuser Straße. The south direction to the Bronnzeller roundabout is free. According to current plans, construction work on the retaining wall is scheduled to be completed in April.
