The “Let's Dance” candidates usually aim to increase their points from week to week. But two candidates set the bar pretty high right from the start this year and received top jury ratings: Ross Antony and Jan Kittmann. Curse or blessing for dance newbies?
Strong start on “Let’s Dance”: Can Ross Antony and Jan Kittmann maintain this level?
Right at the beginning 25 (Ross Antony) or 23 points (Jan Kittmann) is a great achievement, but it can also put a lot of pressure on the “Let's Dance” stars. After all, they still have a few weeks and therefore dances ahead of them. And as we all know, it is easier to increase your performance level than to maintain it at a high level week after week.
After Ross Antony had won 25 points for his Charleston performance, juror Joachim Llambi warned: “The problem that Ross has now: He set the bar high for himself.” Now both the jury and the audience would expect the entertainer to deliver similar performances in the next shows.

Ross Antony's top performance on “Let's Dance” doesn't put him under pressure

However, the musician himself did not feel any particular pressure after the top rating, he revealed to us in an interview on Friday evening after the live show. Rather, he looks realistically into the future: “Because I think it won't always be like this every week. (…) And I think there will be dances where I will have difficulties.”
But even these dances don't unsettle the star of the “Good Mood” team, as Mariia Maksina and Ross Antony call themselves. “I really have the best person at my side. And she will bring out the best in me. I'm really looking forward to it.”

And what about Jan Kittmann? The GZSZ star and dance partner Kathrin Menzinger are in second place on Friday evening with 23 points, just behind Ross and Mariia.

But unlike Ross, this top performance put him under a bit of pressure right from the start, Jan Kittmann revealed after the show: “The pressure was already there this week. (…) I want to give it the same gas next week.” In particular, Jan puts herself under pressure, as dance professional Kathrin Menzinger found out in the first week with her new protégé.

But despite the pressure, Jan Kittmann feels one thing above all: anticipation! “I’m really excited and I’m incredibly excited and I’m excited for it to continue.” And after a day's break, the “Let's Dance” stars will continue training for Show 2 on Sunday.
