On Friday morning (February 27th) a spotlight burns during the morning broadcast. Moderator Jasmin Gebele leaves the moderation desk with presence of mind. The rest of the team also reacts immediately.
Quick response and safety routines prevented anything worse from happening
The incident happened while a report was running and the presenter was not visible to viewers. But the cameras in the studio continued to roll in the control room. The event was recorded there.
A burned-out headlight caused the small fire. But thanks to the decisive and quick reaction of our colleagues and the safety routines, there was only a moment of shock on Friday morning. Employees grabbed the fire extinguisher and got the situation under control.
