The Hesse-Thuringia Garden, Landscape and Sports Field Construction Association has moved its headquarters from Wiesbaden to Fulda.
Fulda – With the move of its association headquarters from Wiesbaden to Fulda, the Garden, Landscape and Sports Field Construction Association of Hesse-Thuringia (FGL) is sending a clear signal for the importance of gardening and landscaping in central Germany, according to the announcement. On Thursday, the industry celebrated the new start in East Hesse with a welcome party in the new premises at Paul-Klee-Straße 72. The carpentry company werk9 was based here until autumn 2024.
The association brings together gardening, landscaping and sports field construction companies in Hesse and Thuringia and sees itself as a specialist and interest group for “green crafts”. As the FGL reports, it supports its member companies in the areas of, among other things, specialist advice, training and further education, securing skilled workers, business and legal issues, quality assurance and public relations.
Association for gardening and landscaping moves to Fulda
With the new location in Fulda, the association wants to create a strong center for the industry together with entrepreneurs and supporting members. According to the FGL, a clear signal should be sent from here to the regions as well as to the economy and politics.
At the opening event, FGL President Karsten Hain welcomed numerous guests from Thuringia (including Weimar and Saalfeld), northern Hesse (Kassel), southern Hesse (Frankfurt and Limburg an der Lahn), the Rhine-Main area, the Taunus and central Hesse. Fulda was also represented by city planning officer Daniel Schreiner (non-party); Media representatives also took part in the celebration and congratulated the industry on its new area of activity in East Hesse.

As part of the event, initial insights into the next steps were given. Immediately after the celebration, renovation work on the new association headquarters begins. In addition to the office area for the FGL team, a new “academy area” with modern event rooms is being created. In the future, these will be used both for the association's own events and for training courses for supporting members.
According to the association, board member Paul Sonntag, who is primarily responsible for the renovation planning, explained the background to the location decision. The aim was to move more centrally into the center of the association and thus further improve accessibility for member companies. With the building of a former carpentry shop in Fulda, a suitable property was found that offers the association optimal development opportunities.

Managing director Silvio Michael announced that the renovation work would be completed in the second half of 2026. The first major event at the new location is the “GaLaBau-Forum Mitte/Nord” on Tuesday, November 19, 2026. According to FGL, the specialist day is intended to bring together the entire industry with municipalities, landscape architects and urban development players.
