
A stranger robbed a senior citizen in Langenselbold with a bold trick: He held a map in front of her – and reached into her wallet while doing so.
Langenselbold – With a map held up, an unknown person distracted a senior citizen in her car and stole around 100 euros in cash, her bank card and her ID. The incident happened on Wednesday, February 25th, around 9:45 a.m. in Steinweg (single-digit house number) in front of a restaurant there, as the police report.

Accordingly, the man spoke to the woman from the Main-Kinzig district who was waiting in the car and pretended that he had to change money. The unknown man opened the passenger door, leaned into the car and distracted the driver with a map. At that moment he apparently tampered with the elderly woman's wallet and stole the valuables, it is said.
Shortly afterwards the perpetrator ran away. According to police, the man is around 60 to 70 years old and around 1.65 meters tall. He has a “stronger” stature and a goatee. He was dressed completely dark and wore a cap, possibly a so-called “flat cap”.
The criminal police are asking witnesses who have observed the man or who can provide information about his identity to call (06181) 100123.
