Relatives find her body.
In Upper Austria, an act of violence shakes an entire community. A 28-year-old teacher is discovered dead in a school library. Suspicion is directed at a colleague who also died a short time later.

Escape ends 22 kilometers from the crime scene

When relatives found the 28-year-old in the library of a middle school in Taufkirchen an der Pram, Upper Austria, on Friday evening, a major operation began. Any help comes too late for the young woman.
According to information from the Austrian media Today and Krone, investigators are currently assuming that the teacher was the victim of a violent crime.

The focus of the investigation is a 29-year-old man who also taught at the school. Alois Ebner, head of the Ried public prosecutor's office, commented on the course of events on Saturday. “The perpetrator stabbed the victim several times in the neck with a type of dagger and then shot him three times in the head,” Ebner told the “Oberösterreichische Nachrichten”. The 29-year-old man then sat down in his car. “Immediately before he crashed into a tree at full speed, he shot himself in the head”

Investigators are examining the relationship as a possible motive

Why the crime happened is still unclear. Initially it was said that the 29-year-old and the woman who was killed had previously been in a relationship. But Alois Ebner tells the Oberösterreichische Nachrichten: “The perpetrator was not the victim's ex-boyfriend. According to initial investigations, the motive was jealousy and spurned love. The trigger for the crime was probably that the young woman had recently had a boyfriend.”

The murder investigators from the Upper Austria State Criminal Police Office are working hard to clarify the background. There are currently no indications that other people could have been involved in the incident. The news caused horror far beyond the small Upper Austrian community. The fact that such an act of bloodshed occurs in a place that is supposed to stand for learning and security is particularly shocking to many people.

The public prosecutor's office has ordered an autopsy of both bodies. It is intended to help reconstruct the exact sequence of events. Until the results are available, numerous questions remain unanswered. All that is certain so far is that a 28-year-old woman has lost her life and the entire school community is in shock. (yeah)
