
In order to better protect itself against digital attacks, the city of Hünfeld relies on inter-municipal cooperation in the area of cybersecurity.

That is why the city council has now approved an agreement to operate an inter-municipal information security center.
The city of Hünfeld relies on cooperation in cyber security
According to Hünfeld's mayor Benjamin Tschesnok, the joint office will be set up at Stadtwerke Hünfeld, which already provides servers, software and hardware for the member municipalities of the Hessisches Kegelspiel association with the member municipalities of Rasdorf, Burghaun, Nüsttal and Hünfeld as well as other municipal customers. Through cooperation at the intermunicipal level, these challenges can be met more economically and efficiently.
A funding application should also be submitted to the state Hesse to receive funding for this inter-municipal task. According to the mayor, the goal is to bring digitalization to a level together at an organizational and technical level in order to achieve the best possible cyber resilience. This serves to protect the data of citizens in the connected municipalities but also the operational security of digital applications from possible disruptions and attacks. (sko)
