Hanau – “Someone is walking around here with a samurai sword!” – With these words, a woman reported to the police late on Thursday evening, triggering an operation at Hanau Central Station around 11 p.m. According to the witness, a man with a samurai sword was heading towards the Auheimer Straße exit.
“Samurai sword” calls police into action at Hanau train station
As the police announced on Friday morning, several patrols rushed to the train station and a few minutes later met a 20-year-old who was visibly carrying the corpus delicti on his back. As it turned out, however, it was an unsharpened sword.
According to the man, he had bought the sword in Frankfurt and wanted to transport it home to use it as a decorative item. The sword was seized. Administrative offense proceedings under the Weapons Act were initiated against the young man from Großkrotzenburg.
According to the report, officials do not believe there is any danger. The 20-year-old was apparently not aware that openly carrying a Japanese sword could have a disturbing effect on passers-by.
Meanwhile, the criminal police in Hanau are busy solving a mysterious attack: A 44-year-old wanted to help with a breakdown – and later woke up in a pool of blood with no memory.
