An anonymous tipper from Hesse won millions in the Lotto Eurojackpot on May 22nd. The winning numbers were played without a customer card.

Wiesbaden – An anonymous lottery player Hesse can look forward to winning millions. In the Eurojackpot draw on Saturday (May 22nd) the person won 2,351,253.50 million eurosas the lotto Hessen GmbH announced in a press release.

It wasn't just the bettor from Hesse who was lucky: lottery players from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Saarland as well as from Finland, Iceland, Sweden (twice) and Slovenia also won the same amount in the second prize category.

The numbers drawn on Friday evening in Helsinki were 5, 34, 35, 42 and 46, supplemented by the Euro numbers 3 and 5. The Hessian winner was only missing the second super number, because 7 was chosen instead of 5. Since the numbers were played anonymously and without a customer card in one of the almost 2,000 sales outlets in the Rhine-Main area, it remains exciting to wait and see.

“The bet was 10 euros and has now paid off 235,000 times over,” said a Lotto spokeswoman. “The original game receipt with the correct numbers is now worth a maximum, because this is a prerequisite for the winnings to be transferred to the account. At Lotto Hessen we are now looking forward to the lucky person's visit to the company headquarters in Wiesbaden.”

For Hesse, this is the third million-dollar win this year and the second in the Eurojackpot lottery. On January 9th, a man from Wetterau won around 1.01 million euros. On February 11th, a bettor from the Hochtaunus district scored around 1.2 million euros with six correct numbers in Lotto 6aus49.

The Eurojackpot remains exciting: the first prize tier with the maximum jackpot of 120 million euros is still open. The next opportunity to crack this is next Tuesday, May 26th. The highest Eurojackpot winnings in Hesse reached 90 million euros in May 2021 in the Rhine-Main area and around 84.8 million euros in July 2016 in northern Hesse.

Lotto Hessen will now be the gold sponsor of the Hessentag 2026 in Fulda and the namesake of Hessentagsstrasse. “Just White” is also supported. At the Hesse day Lotto Hessen presents the approximately three kilometer long Hessentagsstrasse, which leads from Universitätsplatz in the city center to Fulda-Aue.
