Main-Kinzig district/Fulda district – The Main-Kinzig district and the Fulda district invite you to the Main-Kinzig-Fulda cultural summer for the 27th time. From May to October, visitors can expect over 135 events in both districts – from orchestral concerts to theater performances and readings to workshops and art exhibitions.

“The Main-Kinzig-Fulda cultural summer is a strong sign of the importance of art and culture in our districts,” said District Administrator Bernd Woide (CDU) at the program presentation. Culture connects people, creates encounters and opens up new perspectives. Above all, it makes the creative work of many artists visible and tangible for a broad public.

His counterpart, District Administrator Thorsten Stolz (SPD) from the Main-Kinzig district, particularly emphasized the open-air events: “Festivals and open-air events in particular have a very special flair, and the current program offers a lot of that.” They bring people together and create lively meeting places.

Music, theater, art and cultural diversity can be experienced in the middle of public space – that is what makes the cultural summer so special. The event begins on Friday, May 22nd with a concert at Fasanerie Castle in Eichenzell. The Peter Reiter Quartet will perform in the large hall at 7:30 p.m.

Peter Reiter is known as a long-time pianist in the Hessischer Rundfunk big band and has also appeared there as a saxophonist in productions. He is accompanied by his long-time companion Dietmar Fuhr on the double bass, Tobias Frohnhöfer on the drums and Antoine Spranger on the piano – all musicians who have made a name for themselves far beyond the country's borders.

Both district administrators thanked everyone involved who contributed to the success with commitment and ingenuity: cultural initiatives, clubs, organizations and the many volunteers, without whom such a series of events would not be possible. The cultural summer is supported by the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art and the Sparkasse Cultural Foundation of Hesse-Thuringia.

The complete program with all event dates, locations, advance booking offices and admission prices is below kultursommer-hessen.de available. Tickets for the opening concert are available below schloss-fasanerie.ticketfritz.de.

It's not just the cultural summer that offers people in the region a wide program this year: The Hessentag 2026 in Fulda is even bigger – with around 1,200 free events.
