Lead into the drug world?
There has been no trace of Paul Burdach and Sven Scherbenske for more than two years. Now emergency services are deployed again in Havelland. The investigators are apparently checking whether the two missing person cases could be related.
In Havelland, west of Berlin, the police are again looking for Paul Burdach and Sven Scherbenske. Both men will disappear in the spring of 2024. Both are still missing today. And in both cases, investigators believe they were victims of a violent crime. So far, the public prosecutor's office has seen no concrete evidence of a connection between the cases. Now the investigators are examining possible parallels for the first time.
Paul Burdach from Rathenow was 23 years old when he lost track of him. He was last seen on April 17, 2024, including in an Obi hardware store in Rathenow. According to BZ, he is there accompanied by a man whose identity is still unclear to this day. The police are still looking for him as a possible witness.
Sven Scherbenske from Rhinow disappeared around a month earlier. According to the Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung, the 46-year-old was riding his bike on March 15, 2024. He is also said to have had a metal detector with him. Investigators later found his bike in a forest near Rhinow, but there was no trace of him.
On Monday, emergency services searched areas near Rhinow and a densely overgrown forest area between Gülpe and Prietzen near Lake Gülper. The police are talking about new clues from the ongoing investigation. According to BZ information, the murder investigators are also checking whether the men could have had connections to the drug community.
