Brave despite dizziness and sweats“I have to sit down right now!” Patrice Aminati suffers a faint attack in the RTL interview
She wants to be strong, she wants to get out – but her body doesn't always cooperate.
Patrice Aminati is unusually open at an event in Munich. But in the middle of the interview with RTL something happens that affects everyone.
With a new look for the event
“I said I wanted a change, something different, something different.” With new energy and a brown wig, Patrice Aminati appears at the Dirndl Shop opening of Kinga Mathé in Munich in the evening. She even prepped with self-tanner: “Now I quickly painted everything on myself with self-tanner so that I feel healthy, fit and beautiful today.” But the moment changes faster than she would like.

Attack of weakness in the middle of the interview
As soon as she said these words, she suddenly felt dizzy. “I also notice: I have to sit down right away.” The 30-year-old stops and looks for support. You can find it with us, the RTL reporter team. Patrice feels the relief. At first she doesn't want to sit down, instead she stands at a desk where she can support herself. “I thought I'd go through with it, but before I tip you over here,” she says frankly.

The disease is your invisible companion
The reason for the sudden attack of weakness is the strong medication. Patrice Aminati has black skin cancer. The side effects of this are part of their everyday life. “Just because you can’t see it on someone’s face, inside it looks completely different.”she explains. And yet she fights through such evenings. For them, every moment outside their own four walls counts. The fact that she receives support means a lot to her. “If that’s the memory of the beautiful evening, that you’re holding someone’s hand, that you’re together, that’s what makes us human,” she says later.

Your daughter doesn't know anything about the illness
Things get particularly emotional when Patrice talks about her family. Her daughter is three years old – and has no idea she has the disease. “Now she's about to turn four, and when I'm feeling bad, I say: Mommy's tired, Mommy's going to rest a bit today,” she says. They do puzzles together and spend quiet time together. But the thoughts of the future don't let her go: “But I'm dreading the day I'll have to explain this to her: Mom has cancer. Well, it hasn't happened yet.”
Gratitude despite a difficult diagnosis
Despite everything, Patrice Aminati does not lose her eye for the positive. In the RTL interview she speaks openly about her new perspective on life. “Today I was sitting on the balcony with my mom and asked: Have we always been this happy? And she said: No, we are more grateful.” For them, it's the little things that count. “But now we know how fleeting this can be, the moment, and for me these are pain-free days. This is such a gift, I thank the good Lord.” An evening that shows how much strength she has within her – and how important a helping hand is sometimes at the right moment. (Igo)
