
A citizen's tip led East Hesse investigators to a professional cannabis plantation. The police came across hundreds of plants in a warehouse in Künzell.
Künzell – A tip from the public led to the discovery of a professionally operated cannabis plantation in a warehouse in Künzell. At the end of April, officers from the East Hesse Criminal Directorate arrested two men aged 31 and 32 who are accused of dealing with cannabis in large quantities, according to the Fulda public prosecutor's office and the East Hesse police headquarters.
The starting point of the investigation was a citizen's tip that drew attention to a so-called “indoor plantation” in a warehouse in a district of Künzell. Based on extensive investigations by the Fulda criminal police in cooperation with the Fulda public prosecutor's office, the suspicion against the accused was substantiated and further substantiated. As a result, the Fulda district court issued a search warrant for the property in question at the request of the public prosecutor.
Citizen's tip blows up professional plantation in Künzell – two arrests
During the search, the emergency services came across a large-scale cannabis cultivation facility. According to information from the public prosecutor's office and the police, the officers seized several hundred cannabis plants, several thousand plant pots as well as numerous heat lamps, fans and other technical equipment that indicate a professional operation.
According to the authorities, two suspected Albanian citizens, aged 31 and 32, were arrested during the operation and brought before a judge. Both men were ordered held in custody.
“The drugs seized in the entire investigation complex and the materials found for drug production could have fetched tens of thousands of euros in street sales,” as the Fulda public prosecutor’s office and the East Hesse police headquarters report in conclusion.
A trial recently began in another case related to drug trafficking and possession in East Hesse: A 40-year-old has to answer before the Fulda regional court. In this case, the police came across the drug by chance.
