Police say the incident occurred between 7:40 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesday. The previously unknown perpetrators then used the debit card stolen from the car to buy cigarettes. In this context, the police strongly advise not to leave valuables in vehicles.

“Always make sure that your vehicle is locked! Lock the windows – even if you are away for a short time!” says police spokesman Marc Leipold. The officers are now asking for information about the theft from the car to the East Hesse police headquarters on (0661) 1050.

Alternatively, tips can also be sent to any other police station and via the online watchdog at www.polizei.hessen.de be given. The day before, previously unknown perpetrators broke into a driving school in Hünfeld. The thieves stole cash. The police are also asking for information about this crime.
