Bill Kaulitz defends himself against hate online – and gets justice in court.
After a Berlin AfD politician allegedly insulted the Tokio Hotel star on social media and specifically attacked him because of his sexual orientation, Kaulitz took legal action against him.
“So really disgusting!”
The trigger was a posting under an advertisement for hair care products. According to Kaulitz, the politician left “really disgusting, hateful comments.” The brothers Bill and Tom deliberately did not want to repeat details in their podcast “Kaulitz Hills”.
Particularly explosive: In a second article, the AfD politician is said to be specifically talking about Bill Kaulitz' have expressed homosexuality. For the musician, a clear limit was crossed. “If you post something like that, you’ll get mail from me more often,” he announced.

Court sees targeted defamation
Bill Kaulitz had the case examined legally – with success. After the politician initially refused to issue a cease and desist declaration, the Hamburg regional court enforced it.

The court assessed the statements as a “massive devaluation” that specifically targeted the singer’s sexual orientation and defamed him.

AfD candidate already noticeable
The Berlin AfD politician is running in the House of Representatives election in September and is ranked 15th on the list. As the Tagesspiegel reports, he has already attracted attention several times on Platform X with provocative and controversial statements.
According to Tagesspiegel, among other things, he wrote: “I'm not interested when billionaires have sex with minors on private jets.” Instead, he would be much more concerned with other cases – for example, “when Finja is bullied because she doesn't wear a headscarf” or young people “land in front of the train because the government lets barbarians in.”
In the podcast, Bill Kaulitz made it clear that he consistently defends himself against hate comments. He also receives support from his brother Tom Kaulizwho also described the statements against Bill as “very disgusting.”
