Schlüchtern – In Schlüchtern, the soccer field and the pump track have now been officially opened and, according to the city of Schlüchtern, are now available daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. As Mayor Matthias Möller announced to around 50 interested people at the small opening ceremony, they had “decided together with politicians to offer the children and young people something in this area”. He had previously often been confronted with the desire for appropriate leisure opportunities. In addition to the sports areas, several seating options were also created.
The new youth area in Schlüchtern is exciting right from the start
The new offer also includes a construction container provided by the Jökel Bau company. According to Kerstin Baier-Hildebrand, head of the Department of Families, Leisure and Tourism, this will be used as a youth container in the future. The special thing about it: “The young people should design it according to their own ideas and also manage it themselves.” This is planned in cooperation with the city school and the Ulrich-von-Hutten-Gymnasium.
The new sports and leisure areas between KUBE and New upper gate According to the city, they will remain in place at least until the Cold Market. Construction work will then begin there for a so-called pocket park and a parking cassette. At the start, Möller was pleased with the strong demand: The area was used very well on the first day. “This shows us that we have done a lot of things right here,” the mayor concluded.
