
Several apartments are uninhabitable after a deflagration in an apartment building in the Rhön. Luckily no one was injured.
Gersfeld – At around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday evening (April 30th), the 44-year-old resident of an apartment building in Gersfeld was in his bathroom when the ventilation installed in the room suddenly deflagrated.

According to the police, this caused a fire that spread through the ventilation pipes to the apartment above. The fire also damaged a water pipe, making other apartments uninhabitable.
All residents of the house were able to leave on time and unharmed. They initially stayed with relatives or acquaintances. The amount of material damage caused to the building is not yet known. The fire brigade from Gersfeld and the surrounding districts with around 40 emergency services were on duty.
The fire brigade and rescue service also had to be deployed on Thursday evening to an accident on the A7 – a 63-year-old landed in the side ditch with his Mini-Cooper.
