Ex-Bachelor Dennis Gries and Katja look back on the first few years

Dennis and Katja can hardly hide their smiles, their love seems so great and good. “It still feels the same as it did at the beginning, the butterflies are still there,” Dennis explains straight away. Katja adds: “The energy from the first date lasts for a long time.”

Maybe it's precisely because their love was tested again and again in the first two years – most recently there was even a rumor of a love crisis because Katja wrote on her Instagram channel at the beginning of the year: “Well, I have a little identity crisis, I've had it for a little while and I'm just trying to cover it up a bit.” And further: “I hope that at some point I will be happy ALONE in the Allgäu and not just be happy with someone.” Words that she mainly referred to the Allgäu.

Katja explains openly to RTL: “The start was challenging and simply new for our relationship. We both slipped into a new job and a new relationship that was in the public eye. The whole thing also involved a new place of residence. It took a while for us to find our way, especially for me here.”

What she means: Because they met on TV, both of them suddenly slipped into a kind of influencer area. They wanted to show not only the positive but also the difficult sides. But it was precisely these moments that made them even stronger as a couple. “You can say that we have grown a lot from the challenges. We have the feeling that we have gone through and experienced so much in the two years that are five or six years long.”

And while they have mastered the difficult moments well, they are also already thinking about the future! Dennis laughing: “Maybe one day we’ll find a nice home in the Allgäu with a few more inmates.” Then he becomes specific: “The nice thing is that we both want to have children. We agree, when that happens, we’ll see.”

The desire to have a baby is particularly present for Katja. “I talk about it often because it's important to me. If I have my way, it won't have to take that long.”

Interesting: While Katja and Dennis are already talking about children and marriage, Dennis' Bachelor colleague Sebastian Klaus is already further along. He recently married his Jenny – the big celebration will follow in the summer. Dennis: “We’ll now take a look at how my colleague does it and look forward to a great celebration.” The two couples now have a good friendship – even celebrated New Year's Eve 2025 together. “It's really nice that the two of them clicked so quickly and got down to business. I'm also pleased that we still have such good contact after more than two years.”
