The desperate man doesn't know what else to do!
Because his bank won't give him access to his dead sister's account, a man in India has found a stark solution. A viral video shows him running to the bank with his sister's remains. Sounds bizarre, but it's actually tragic.
Bureaucracy makes people despair
Jeetu Munda (65) wanted to withdraw 20,000 rupees (210 euros) from his older sister's bank account. The fact that she died in January was apparently not enough of an explanation for the bank employee as to why he wanted the money. They demanded that he bring the account holder with him. “They insisted I take them to the bank”he tells the British Sun. The man had neither a death certificate nor had his sister's death officially confirmed. A problem that is common in areas characterized by poverty and illiteracy.

Skeleton as evidence
Jeetu Munda saw no other way out: he went to the cemetery to dig up his sister's body. “I opened the grave out of frustration and took her skeleton as evidence.” He wrapped up the bones and walked nearly two miles in the heat to the bench, as you can see in the video. The shocked bank employees informed the police. She has now been able to ensure that the money is paid to the man.
