In episode 27 of the current season of “The Geissens – A terribly glamorous family” (can be seen on May 4th at 8:15 p.m. on RTL Zwei on FreeTV and is already streaming on RTL+) one sees Robert Geiss literally in a new guise. He changes his typical robe for a surgical shirt. Wife Carmen Geiss affectionately calls this step “action from old to new”. But just before things get serious, the self-made millionaire asks himself “whether this is such a good idea”.

However, Robert is not doing the operation just for optical reasons, but rather for medical reasons. “His eyelid was very heavy,” explains Carmen. She thinks the operation is important “so that he can see better again”. And also Robert's attending physician, Dr. Andreas Dorow says that the procedure “really makes sense” for him from a medical perspective. Robert's field of vision is now noticeably impaired due to his drooping eyelids. So we take the private jet to the trusted beauty clinic.

Robert Geiss: “Jitters before general anesthesia”

Robert is accompanied by his two daughters Shania and Davina. They provide the emotional support that he can really use because: “Of course, operating theaters and hospitals are normally nothing for me,” admits Robert. He had his last general anesthesia as a baby when he was just six weeks old. But he overcomes his fear to gain “the right perspective”.

However, the procedure with surgical preparation etc. does not leave the entrepreneur without a trace. “Oh shit, I feel like I’m going to die any minute now”he says when things get serious. A nervousness that you don't know from the otherwise so casual Robert. How tense he is about the upcoming operation is also made clear by something else: casual sayings, which are usually the order of the day for him, are for once absent.
