Fulda – Summer can come: After a seven-month winter break, the Rosenbad in the Johannisauee in Fulda opens on May 1st at 9 a.m – and welcomes its visitors with numerous innovations. “We're happy that it's starting now. The sunny weather is really exciting. We've increased the comfort for visitors in many places,” says Michael Lipus, authorized representative of RhönEnergie Bäderbetrieb GmbH.

Particularly striking are the eight large relaxation loungers between the cafeteria and the swimming pool as well as the completely renovated changing area, as RhönEnergie announced. The changing area has been extensively modernized, from floor to ceiling, including the electrical systems and lockers, which now shine in shades of yellow and blue, among other things.
The lockers are designed to be barrier-free. The entrance area was also redesigned to be handicapped accessible and family-friendly. A new turnstile system has been installed, and some lockers at the entrance offer cyclists the opportunity to charge the batteries of their e-bikes with green electricity from RhönEnergie.

There are now special cabins with changing tables for families with small children. For security reasons, 22 cameras monitor the entrances and corridors. The modernizations cost almost 800,000 euros. The district of Fulda and the state of Hesse provided subsidies for this.
Eight new loungers invite you to relax in the shade of palm trees. “These loungers enable maximum relaxation. They will definitely be very popular,” Lipus is convinced. New and stable furniture was also installed in the cafeteria area next to the paddling pool.

In order to avoid technical failures, the control of the swimming pool technology was renewed. The cover for the multi-purpose pool on the diving tower, which was introduced two years ago, has proven successful as it prevents people from cooling down on cold nights. Therefore, this pool is warmest in the morning.
The pool is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Early swimmers can use the pool from 7 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Last admission is at 7 p.m. in the evening, and for season ticket holders at 7:30 p.m. The sale of season tickets begins today, Saturday (April 25th) and runs until Thursday (April 30th) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the entrance to the Rosenbad.

The lockers can be used from May 1st. Online sales are already underway shop.schwimmbaeder-fulda.de. Admission prices remain largely stable. The single ticket will be ten cents more expensive than in 2025, the annual tickets by one to three euros. The single ticket for adults costs 4.70 euros, the ticket for children and young people costs 3.00 euros.
Admission is free for children up to five years old. The cost of a family annual ticket is 93 euros. The Ziehers sports pool will close for public swimming on Friday (May 8th).. Schools and clubs can still use the sports pool until June 3rd – also because of preparations for German championships. The indoor swimming pool season starts again on September 7th.
