The city of Lauterbach will receive 500,000 euros for the renovation of the Adolf Spieß sports field. The money comes from the federal program “Renovation of Municipal Sports Facilities”.

Lauterbach/Berlin – Michael Brand, member of the Bundestag for Vogelsberg, sent the good news in a message immediately after the budget committee's decision in Berlin. “It is a great success of our joint efforts with the Vogelsbergkreis. Sport, volunteerism and community are the strongest glue in our society. I am grateful to the clubs in the region for their such important commitment,” emphasized Brand.

He is very pleased that Lauterbach is benefiting from the new federal program. According to the announcement, the half million euros will be used to renovate the running track and create an artificial turf field. Lauterbach prevailed against strong competition; the program was oversubscribed 20 times. A total of one billion euros will be invested in sports facilities throughout Germany.

Brand rated the sports facility renovation program as “a fairly effective program that simultaneously helps sports, communities and regional medium-sized businesses.”

Just recently, Michael Brand reported that 200 million euros from KfW funding will go to East Hesse.
