He found the way to Jesus in withdrawal therapy and wanted to follow his future path in life with God. This was emphasized by a 23-year-old who had to answer before the Gelnhausen district court for illegal drug possession.
Bad Soden-Salmünster – The story of why the young man from Bad Soden-Salmünster was targeted by the justice system is highly unusual. On an April day two years ago, the Bad Orb police station was informed that a bag had been found in front of a hotel in the health resort. A patrol looked into the matter and learned that a man who had gotten into a taxi with his dog had apparently forgotten the utensil there.
23-year-old forgets bag full of drugs in hotel – fined 9,000 euros
When they examined the luggage more closely, the officers not only found items of clothing, but also personal documents belonging to the 23-year-old. Even more interesting from a police perspective was a rich assortment of drugs stashed in the bag.
These included, for example, around 150 grams of marijuana, a good 30 grams of hashish, various banned medications and ecstasy tablets. Packaging material that is normally used for the resale of drugs was also found there.
The 23-year-old emphasized in court that he couldn't remember anything about that time. He had been using drugs and alcohol since he was 13 – sometimes in extreme form. He sometimes drank up to three bottles of vodka a day and not only took drugs, but also laughing gas. He was also temporarily treated as an inpatient because of psychological problems.
The defendant states that he found God during withdrawal
His criminal record did not remain unaffected by the excesses. He has already been convicted several times, for example for attempted aggravated extortion and a violation of the weapons law. The defendant reported that he had now successfully undergone withdrawal in an addiction clinic and had also found God. He is also working again and wants to be “a good part of society” in the future.
Until then, however, the 23-year-old still has to fulfill the requirements of the new court ruling. Judge König sentenced him to a fine of 9,000 euros (180 daily rates of 50 euros each) for illegal possession of cannabis and other narcotics. The spa town resident is on the right track, she praised. He should continue to stay away from his former circle of friends in the future. The representative of the public prosecutor's office had demanded a suspended sentence of ten months. (ls)
