Berlin does not let the Russian threats go unanswered: the Kremlin representative in the German capital is summoned to the Foreign Office. The ministry explains that they will “not allow themselves to be intimidated”.

The Foreign Office has summoned the Russian ambassador, Sergei Nechayev, to Berlin, citing “direct threats from Russia against targets in Germany”. These are “an attempt to weaken our support for Ukraine and test our unity,” explained the Foreign Office at Such threats “and all types of espionage activities in Germany are “completely unacceptable,” the Foreign Ministry continued.

When asked, the Foreign Office did not want to specify what the threats were related to. The summons may have something to do with a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry last week: The ministry threatened to target companies in Europe that have ties to Ukraine.

Three German companies are also named, including Davinci Avia – a subsidiary of the Dutch defense group Destinus, which is also listed, the engine manufacturer and defense supplier 3W Professional in Hanau and the Munich air freight company Airlogistics Germany.

In a message on the online network Telegram, the Russian ministry refers to Ukraine's plans to expand drone production together with European partners. It viewed the plans as a “wanton step that would lead to a sharp escalation of the military and political situation across the entire European continent.” European arms support for Ukraine will “increasingly drag the countries into war with Russia.”
