April 24th to 26th: Bright market in Schlüchtern attracts visitors
Market activity, music, family offers and a new focus: From Friday, April 24th to Sunday, April 26th, the Helle Markt is back in Schlüchtern. For the first time, an art festival will take place within the street festival. As in previous years, visitors can expect a varied weekend with regional and national exhibitors, culinary offerings and a diverse stage program.
Already on Thursday (April 23rd) Mayor Matthias Möller (non-party) will be on the Gasthof Hausmann stage at 7 p.m. to answer questions at the citizens' talk. The official opening will take place with tapping of draft beer and musical accompaniment on Friday (April 24th) at 6 p.m., before the city center is transformed into a promenade with live music, encounters and experiences.

When traveling from Schlüchtern train station via the Main-Kinzig clinics, the “Kinzigschule”, “Hallenbad” and “Untertor/Feuerwehr” stops are omitted. Towards the city center there is no need to stop at the “Untertor/Feuerwehr” stop. The times will be posted at the affected stops.
A special focus this year is on the new art festival, which accompanies the Helle Markt for the first time. International artists will work together with students from Schlüchtern and develop projects that will be visible throughout the city during the weekend.
This creates installations, performances and interactive formats that reinterpret public space and actively involve visitors. Whether moving sculptures, artistic interventions in urban space, edible landscapes or playful installations – the festival invites you not only to look at art, but to experience it. The resulting works combine everyday life, creativity and collective action and turn Schlüchtern into an open exhibition space for a weekend.
Free trial city tours on Sunday
A central point of contact for families is the Culture and Meeting Center (KuBe). The “Bergwinkel Zauberwelt” offers two areas for the youngest children. Various games and creative activities ensure that even the youngest visitors get their money's worth – from free building to joint activities. Older children will enjoy the Carrera Racing track on level 2 at KuBe.
In addition, the Helle Markt remains what has characterized it for years: a meeting place. Visitors can stroll through the market streets, discover regional offerings, enjoy live music and experience the special atmosphere of the city center. Sunday shopping and additional offers such as free introductory city tours round off the weekend.

They invite you to get to know Schlüchtern from different perspectives. Every Sunday between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., those interested will be guided through the historic old town and the old streets. The meeting point is at the Bergwinkel Museum. If a group would like to take part, please register with Wolfgang Krein on (0151) 53943000 or by email anstadtfuehrer36381@gmail.com requested.
