
A 39-year-old was thrown from the cab of a truck on the A4 and died at the scene of the accident. The main road was completely closed for a short time.
Herleshausen/Wommen – A serious traffic accident on the A4 claimed one life on Tuesday afternoon (April 14th), the police announced. A 39-year-old Belarusian man was thrown from the cab of a truck and died from his injuries at the scene of the accident.

The accident occurred around 4:15 p.m. between the Herleshausen and Wommen junctions. A traffic jam had previously formed due to another accident. A 39-year-old Belarusian truck driver overlooked the end of the traffic jam and crashed into a stationary truck at high speed. The driver who caused the accident was injured in the collision and taken to a nearby hospital; his passenger died.
The police estimate the property damage at around 100,000 euros. Fire and rescue services from Eisenach and Herleshausen were on site for the rescue and recovery work. The main carriageway of the A4 had to be completely closed during the rescue, but traffic was diverted via the Burgberg car park.
