Hardly any other story brings back as many childhood memories as “Heidi”. For generations, the girl from the mountains has been one of the characters that so many grew up with. Now the classic is getting a new edition on RTL and SRF. And we introduce you to the main role!
Huge role for a young Swiss woman
It's incredible news for young and old: 145 years after the publication of Johanna Spyri's novel, the story gets a fresh chapter. The world-famous classic returns as a series. And the young Swiss actress Neah Hefti plays the main role. A figure that everyone really knows and still lives in the minds and hearts of countless people.
Before her big appearance as Heidi in 2027, Neah Hefti appeared in the children's film “Plitsch Platsch Forever!” in April. seen in the cinema.
Fans can look forward to this new narrative
The new series combines the timeless adventures in the Swiss mountains with a modern narrative and, for the first time, accompanies Heidi on her journey from girl to young woman. The focus is on central motifs such as home, friendship and nature – as well as Heidi's personal development and self-determination. The series takes a new look at a character who has shaped generations.
The new edition is being created in collaboration with DCM Switzerland and GAUMONT and is designed as a high-quality, international series project. The production in Germany is supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and the German Motion Picture Fund. In Switzerland, funding is provided by the Teleproduction Fund. The series will be shown on RTL Deutschland and Swiss Radio and Television (SRF). Further production and casting details will be announced in the coming months.
