Neuhof – Between the Neuhof-Nord and Neuhof-Süd junctions, the A66 motorway will be completely closed in both directions from Monday evening (April 20th) to Friday morning (April 24th) every night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. The Fulda branch of the federal Autobahn GmbH stated that routine maintenance work in the Neuhof tunnel was the reason for this.

Complete closure of the Neuhofer A66 tunnel – rescue exercise on Saturday
During the current closure of the Neuhof motorway tunnel, traffic is being routed via the existing detours. In the direction of Frankfurt, the route is diverted from the Neuhof-Nord junction via the U4 through Dorfborn and Neuhof to the Neuhof-Süd junction.
In the direction of Fulda, the diversion takes place from the Neuhof-Süd junction via the U47 through Kalbach, Büchenberg, Zillbach, Döllbach and the B279 to the A66 Fulda-Süd junction. On Saturday (April 25th) the tunnel will remain closed in both directions from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the latest.
The reason for the closure on Saturday is a rescue exercise by the Fulda district. The diversions remain as described above. Finally, the press release on the closure of the Neuhofer A66 tunnel states: “Autobahn GmbH asks for your understanding and increased attention on the diversion routes.”
However The police are investigating after an incident on the A66 near Neuhof. Shortly before the Neuhof tunnel, stones and a pallet fell from a trailer onto the road. Several vehicles drove over the objects. The suspected perpetrator left the scene of the accident without permission.
