At least 30 people die in a mass panic at a tourist destination in Haiti. Haitian media report that an unusually large number of visitors will gather at the Laferrière Citadel in the north of the country on Saturday (April 11).
The government of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé said it was deeply shocked to learn of the tragic incident. Young people in particular are said to have come to a tourist celebration in the UNESCO World Heritage site when mass panic broke out.
