A premiere with international appeal: From April 24th, the Bilder Fuchs gallery in Fulda will be presenting original works of art by Johnny Depp for the first time.
Fulda – Johnny Depp is one of the most famous personalities of today. As a film star he has created characters such as Captain Jack Sparrow from the “Pirates of the Caribbean”, and as a musician he is on the road with his band Hollywood Vampires. What is less known is that he also paints. The world star's art, which remained private for many years, is now established in the contemporary art market.
In Fulda, from April 24th to May 23rd, there is the rare opportunity to purchase original signed works by Johnny Depp at Bilder Fuchs am Abtstor. Important: The artist himself will not come, and the opening of the exhibition will take place with invited guests.
Art by global star Johnny Depp in Germany for the first time
Depp expressed his creativity early on by drawing and painting. Even before his film career, he used sketchbooks to observe and interpret his environment. Art remained a constant throughout his life and developed into a flowing, expressive practice whose energy is reminiscent of neo-expressionism.
For many years, Johnny Depp only shared his art with his private environment. It wasn't until 2022 that he decided to present his works publicly for the first time – with the debut collection “Friends & Heroes”. In it he interpreted personalities that have shaped his life: from cultural icons to personal acquaintances.
The response was overwhelming: the edition sold out within a few hours, confirming the worldwide interest in his works. After the debut in New York, further exhibitions followed, most recently in Tokyo in November 2025.

Now Fulda is a presentation of originally signed editions and unique items in Germany. For example, the limited edition “Five” will be on display. This takes the viewer on a personal level: It captures the emotional exhaustion that Depp felt in 2021, shortly before he entered the fifth year of a difficult phase in his life. To mark this moment, he integrated a distinctive “tally mark”. The basis is a still from a shoot for Dior: “Sauvage”. The artist chose this motif as a tribute to Dior and their loyalty in his darkest hours.
Another central motif is the figure of the “Bunnyman”, created from a recurring dream figure that both he and his son Jack encountered. This figure is staged in a bold series as a symbol and icon of his imagination in ever new dream landscapes. (az)
Anyone interested in other artistic perspectives will also find what they are looking for in the region: The Museum Modern Art in Hünfeld is showing the exhibition “Zwischenwelten” with 38 works by Marina Sailer until April 26thwho seeks new connections between people and nature, the inner world and the outer world in her art.
