Kanye West is set to perform at the popular Wireless Festival in London. This even prompted the British head of government to intervene because of the rapper's anti-Semitic statements. Now even a world-famous beverage company is said to have withdrawn as a sponsor.
A planned appearance by US scandal rapper Kanye West at a festival in London is causing outrage and criticism in Great Britain. Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the plans for the Wireless Festival at Finsbury Park as “deeply worrying”, as first reported by The Sun newspaper. Starmer recalled West's previous anti-Semitic statements and his glorification of Nazism.
“Anti-Semitism in any form is abhorrent and must be combated clearly and decisively wherever it occurs,” Starmer said. “Everyone has a responsibility to ensure that Britain is a place where Jewish people feel safe and protected.”
The 48-year-old West, who now goes by the name Ye, was repeatedly noticed with racist and anti-Semitic comments. Last year he released a song called “Heil Hitler.” At the beginning of 2026 he asked for an apology in the “Wall Street Journal”. “I am neither a Nazi nor an anti-Semite,” he wrote, attributing his previous comments to bipolar disorder.

This is what the festival's homepage currently looks like. That is likely to change soon after Pepsi's withdrawal.
The Wireless Festival takes place in the British capital from July 10th to 12th. According to “The Sun”, a total of 150,000 visitors are expected. Ye continued to be the headliner in the morning. As ITV News reports, the drinks company Pepsi has therefore withdrawn its sponsorship of the festival. Pepsi has been the main sponsor of the event, which takes place in a north London park in July.
