The 38th fruit carpet in the Old Church in Sargenzell in autumn is dedicated to the motif of the Last Supper based on the world-famous work by Leonardo da Vinci.
Sargenzell – The new work of art can be seen in the Old Church from September 5th to November 8th; the ceremonial opening is planned for Friday, September 4th. The Old Church's Friends' Association is deliberately publishing the topic now in order to raise awareness during the Easter period. Work on the fruit carpet traditionally starts at the beginning of the year.
“The Last Supper” will be the theme of the 38th Fruit Carpet
“The topic of 'The Last Supper' touches many people – religiously, culturally and art-historically,” says the support association. “We hope that we can welcome numerous visitors again this year.” Last year the club broke the 1.5 million visitor mark.
The creation of the fruit carpet and the care during the exhibition period are carried out by volunteers every year. The Old Church Support Association is still looking for guest advisors this year who will explain the background to visitors, take short tours and explain details about the work of art. Those interested can register by email info@fruechte Carpet.de or by phone (06652) 1541. (kra)
