Fraudsters in the Fulda district pose as employees of the local court and demand money. The authority warns: Never reveal personal information.
Fulda – Fraudsters are currently at work in the Fulda district, pretending to be employees of the local court on the phone. As the court announced, the perpetrators used the authority's telephone number (924 2300) to deceive their victims.
Those called are told that an invoice from the local court has not yet been paid. Quick settlement is urgently needed, otherwise there is a risk of significant disadvantages. As the conversation continues, the fraudsters then attempt to obtain the victim's personal information and bank details.
Fulda District Court warns against fraudsters on the phone
Dr. Christoph Wagner, director of the Fulda district court, made it clear in a press release: These calls do not come from the district court. As a general rule, the authority does not make any claims by telephone. Wagner calls on citizens not to provide any personal information during such calls. Anyone who receives such a call should contact the police.
A current case from Vogelsberg shows that telephone fraud always leads to success: There, a senior citizen fell victim to a so-called shock call and handed over a large sum of cash to the perpetrators in Fulda.
