The Antonius spring market invites you to stroll around on the weekend. Newly planted trees now line the path to the Anthony of Padua School.

Fulda – On Saturday (March 21st) the site of Antonius: Together People was transformed into a lively meeting place for hundreds of visitors under the motto “Antonius blossoms”.. Between the occasional rays of sunshine, the lively buzz of voices at the market stalls and the ceremonial inauguration of the newly planted trees, the guests enjoyed the day.

Hand-made Easter decorations, fresh spring ideas and organic culinary offerings invited people to stroll and linger, reported antonius: living together gGmbH. Products made of wood, ceramics, textiles and floristry, which were lovingly made by the employees of the Antonius craft businesses, were particularly in demand.

The offering was supplemented by stands from regional partners. The traditional book flea market in aid of the St. Antonius Foundation once again proved to be a popular destination. A special highlight of the day took place away from the hustle and bustle of the market: along the access path to the Antonius von Padua School on Carl-Schurz-Straße, the freshly planted trees were ceremoniously inaugurated in the presence of children, employees of the ambinius daycare center, the Antonius von Padua School and other supporters.

The first five trees now line the path to school. “The area is becoming increasingly dense. We want to create a livable environment in which the students can develop into strong personalities – and for this we need the right environment,” explained Lysann Elze-Gischel, the headmaster of the Antonius von Padua School.

Sebastian Bönisch from the Antonius management team also emphasized the importance of the measure: “It's about creating a greener living environment that makes arriving more pleasant. In the future, the trees will also provide shade for the daycare center's outdoor area.” Sponsorships were provided for the newly planted trees.

The Soroptimist International Club Fulda, represented by President Eva-Maria Helfrich, whose grandchild attends the Antonius von Padua School, donated a tree. The Falko family took on another sponsorship with Hedi, Henry and Karl. As a sign of their solidarity, the sponsors each chose a tree and attached a nesting box there.

The school choir brought the atmospheric conclusion to this program item with the song “The Bird Wedding”, which is also meant to symbolically attract feathered guests. Many visitors started the day with breakfast in the Antonius Café, which – like last year – was accompanied by Leon Jeske on the piano.

Spring market continues on Sunday

As the day progressed, further culinary offerings invited guests to linger at the outdoor tables. The focus was on personal encounters and exchanges, entirely in the spirit of the network. A varied program provided cultural highlights. The choir from the ambinius daycare center thrilled everyone with cheerful spring songs and received just as much applause as the antonius show dance group.

The Antonius band also created an exuberant atmosphere with their performance. Numerous participation offers, which particularly attracted families, transformed the entire market area into a place full of encounters and creativity. A visit is also worthwhile on Sunday (March 22nd): the GestaltenWerk opens from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for an additional sale of selected craft and decorative items, while the Antonius Café once again invites you to linger.
