You don't even want to imagine this suffering.
The police in Teplice, Czech Republic, have seen all sorts of things. But this sight took the officers' breath away: When they entered the small apartment, they were greeted by a terrible stench. Numerous cats walk around among the feces and urine. But that's not all: the police found more than 100 frozen cats in a freezer.

Animal owner (49) reported for animal cruelty

The apartment belongs to a woman who lives alone. The 49-year-old is now being charged with animal cruelty, keeping animals in unsuitable conditions and neglecting animal care. Photos released by police show the animals living in their own excrement. The bodies of the kittens in the freezer were carefully packed in paper-thin bags. According to “blesk.cz”, the crucial tip came from the woman’s neighbors. At the time, 25 cats were expected to be in the apartment in poor condition. Nobody expected that there could also be dead animals.

It is not known whether the woman suffers from a mental disorder. In general, the police are holding back from providing further information. All that is clear is that she was arrested.

Another case of animal abuse is also shocking

Just recently, police in the Litoměřice region charged two people with animal cruelty to a cat. Police spokeswoman Pavla Kofrová told ČTK that one of the defendants is an adult and the other is a juvenile. If convicted, adults face up to three years in prison, while the maximum sentence for juveniles is half that. The younger defendant faces a maximum of one and a half years in prison.
