He was an Oscar nominee for “The Wrestler,” but has been in trouble for a long time: Mickey Rourke. According to media reports, he is expected to shell out around $7,000 a month in rent for the rental house on Drexel Avenue in LA and have not paid in full for months. The rent arrears have now totaled $59,100.
When the landlord filed suit in December, he gave Rourke a three-day notice: either pay up or get out – but the actor didn't respond in a timely manner, according to court documents.
The court sees the radio silence as a lack of defense and has now decided, in the 73-year-old's absence, that his tenancy rights have expired and that the landlord regains control of the house.
