Mickey Rourke is out!
The Hollywood star lived in rent for a long time but didn't pay it. His landlord filed a lawsuit against him in December. The debt: A good $59,000. Now a court has ruled in favor of the landlord.
From Oscar nominee to eviction case
He was an Oscar nominee for “The Wrestler,” but has been in trouble for a long time: Mickey Rourke. According to media reports, he is expected to shell out around $7,000 a month in rent for the rental house on Drexel Avenue in LA and have not paid in full for months. The rent arrears have now totaled $59,100.
When the landlord filed suit in December, he gave Rourke a three-day notice: either pay up or get out – but the actor didn't respond in a timely manner, according to court documents.

The court sees the radio silence as a lack of defense and has now decided, in the 73-year-old's absence, that his tenancy rights have expired and that the landlord regains control of the house.
Rourke is now said to be living in a hotel with his dogs – bitter everyday life for a man who used to be one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood.
Embarrassing fundraiser – and a proud star
In January, his long-time manager started a GoFundMe appeal for donations, also because of the rent arrears. Almost $100,000 is raised. However, the campaign was anything but well received by the 73-year-old: He distances himself on Instagram, calling the action embarrassing and humiliating. He also calls on all supporters to demand their money back. While the court ruling finally seals his eviction, the aging star is fighting for his image – as someone who doesn't want to appear as a supplicant despite debts.

No wallet of your own?!
According to his manager, the actor has been struggling with financial problems for years. One reason for this: He is considered extremely selective when it comes to role offers. How “The Hollywood Reporter” Reportedly, the actor is said to refuse to stand in front of the camera for less than $200,000 per day of filming. A self-confident demand – but also a risk in an industry in which opportunities can quickly disappear again.

In addition, the star apparently lives from salary to salary. He is not said to have his own bank account and reportedly hardly carries any cash with him. At the same time, he is considered very generous and always supports friends financially.
However, another statement from his manager is particularly sad: the actor often spends Christmas and birthdays alone. Apart from his assistant and his management, he hardly has any people around him. (ypr)
