The expansion of the intensive care area at the Schlüchtern location of the Main-Kinzig Clinics has been successfully completed. Two additional intensive care bed spaces were completed.

Schlüchtern – The new treatment places in the intensive care area at the Schlüchtern location are equipped with modern intensive care monitoring and medical technology and enable even more differentiated care for seriously ill patients. The expansion provides the medical team with additional capacity to ensure high-quality care even in times of high utilization.

“Efficient intensive care is a central component of reliable health care in the district. By expanding the intensive care area at the Schlüchtern location, we are strengthening the medical infrastructure in the region and ensuring that patients can receive high medical care close to home, even in the case of serious illnesses,” emphasizes District Administrator Thorsten Stolz (SPD), who is also chairman of the supervisory board.

The construction work was carried out during ongoing clinic operations. The aim was to efficiently expand the existing structures and at the same time integrate modern technical standards. In addition to patient-based monitoring technology, the infrastructural requirements for safe intensive care treatment have also been further improved.

“With the new intensive care beds, we are specifically expanding our capacities in Schlüchtern and are thus responding to the increasing demands in acute and intensive care medicine. At the same time, we are investing in modern medical technology and optimal working conditions for our teams in order to be able to guarantee long-term high-quality and safe care for our patients,” explains Managing Director Christian Quack.

By expanding the intensive care area, the Main-Kinzig clinics are making a further contribution to strengthening medical care in the eastern Main-Kinzig district and ensuring efficient acute care at the Schlüchtern location in the long term. (shush)

Investments have also recently been made in the medical infrastructure in Fulda. At the end of last year, the Sacred Heart Hospital officially opened its expanded and modernized radiology department there.
