Rocco was in Dubai at the time of the escalation in the Middle East. As the situation in the region worsened and numerous flights were canceled, the teenager was stuck in the metropolis on the Persian Gulf. The 14-year-old was not on his own: Louisa and a friend's parents looked after him on site. But when the situation escalated, Franjo Pooth decided to travel himself.
36 hours on the road! Through the Middle East on your own
The road to Dubai was difficult. Because the flight situation around the region was tense, Franjo Pooth first flew via Istanbul and Cairo to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, according to the picture. From there he continued the journey by car to the border of the United Arab Emirates – where a driver in an armored vehicle met him and took him to Dubai. In total, the father of the family said he was on the road for more than 36 hours. “I'm finally with my little one and Louisa. What an odyssey. I'm tired, but happy. It's all good”he told the newspaper upon his arrival.

He had already confirmed on Wednesday that he had arrived in Dubai. “Rocco was happy. Of course. Louisa too. It's different when dad is there”he said at the time. For the 56-year-old, there was no question that he would not let his son navigate the crisis alone – even if that meant traveling across the Middle East on his own.

Verona Pooth: “Three pictures that mean more to me than my entire Instagram”
Meanwhile, Verona Pooth spoke up on Instagram. And her lines left no doubt about how much the past few days had affected her. “Today I’m sharing three pictures with you that mean more to me than my entire Instagram,” wrote the entrepreneur and presenter on a post in which she publicly commented on the situation for the first time. “They show the true beauty: love, courage and solidarity between three people who are my life.” Two of the photos show Franjo and Rocco in a warm embrace, another is a selfie with Louisa.

With the happy ending in mind, Verona Pooth also found thoughtful words at the end. “This moment showed me how quickly everything can change – from one minute to the next”she wrote. And made an urgent appeal to her followers: “There is always a way. I thank the universe that you are well. Nobody is really safe. It can happen to anyone at any time.
