“The Lion’s Den” star Carsten Maschmeyer tells a political talk show about his son Marcel Maschmeyer’s departure from Dubai. Because he was on vacation there with his wife and daughter when the Iran war broke out. And to get back to Germany, the young family even has to walk through the desert!

Marcel, his wife Marie and their one-year-old daughter Malia want to have a great time in Dubai; the couple wants to celebrate their wedding anniversary. “But then it literally exploded,” says Carsten Maschmeyer on the talk show. The war has broken out in Iran and all flights have been canceled. Many people, including Marcel Maschmeyer and his family, are not coming back to Germany.

A ticket cost 10,000, but that was of secondary importance: “First of all, of course, I was happy that they were back in one piece.
