The city of Hünfeld fulfilled a citizen's wish: a new sidewalk in Rudolphshan should ensure more safety for school children and other pedestrians.
Hünfeld – The Helfertsweg in Hünfeld-Rudolphshan has received a sidewalk in part. According to Mayor Benjamin Tschesnok, the construction project with a total volume of around 110,000 euros has now been completed to the extent that only three trees remain to be planted.

The city and Stadtwerke Hünfeld GmbH worked together to create this sidewalk for the first time along the Helfertsweg street from the junction with the Buchfinkenweg street to the K 139/Sebastianstrasse district road over a length of around 80 meters.
The sidewalk is paved and is about 1.70 meters wide. As part of the project, new supply lines were laid in this area. Above the junction with Helfertsweg, a barrier-free pedestrian crossing has also been created over Sebastianstrasse.
In doing so, the city of Hünfeld had taken into account the wishes of the citizens, who hoped that the sidewalk and the crossing aid would ensure safe use of the path for pedestrians and school children, the press release concluded.
Meanwhile, Hünfeld-Mackenzell should now be better protected from flooding: A wet meadow with a retention function was created on the Molzbach.
