With a common “word for the election” the Protestant and Catholic churches in Hesse are sending a signal for cohesion and calling for people to vote.

On Friday (February 27, 2026), the Protestant and Catholic churches in Hesse published an urgent appeal to all eligible voters. The “Stand up for…” campaign provides orientation

Parallel to the election call, the dioceses and regional churches launched the ecumenical campaign “Stand up for…”. In doing so, they place fundamental values ​​such as human dignity, openness and justice at the center of the political debate. Voters are explicitly called upon to carefully examine candidates' programs and statements: Do they correspond to the Christian view of humanity and do they promote peaceful coexistence?
