+++ 12.33 p.m.: Will Hessentag break the next big mark today? Fulda's mayor Dr. Heiko Wingenfeld assumes that the 500,000th will be on Tuesday. Visitors are welcomed. The CDU politician said this at the public parliamentary group meeting of the Hesse CDU. According to Benedikt Kuhn, head of the Hessian State Chancellery, around 430,000 guests have been counted so far. +++ 11.34 a.m.: This picture creates an unusual Hessentag moment on Tuesday morning: Hesse's Education Minister Armin Schwarz (CDU) sprints across the tartan track in the Johannisau Stadium – although not in sportswear, but in a shirt, suit trousers and running shoes. Schwarz competed in the 100-meter run with students at the National Youth Games at the Fulda Cathedral School. It is not yet known how quickly the minister was traveling – but the unusual appearance has already caused an eye-catcher at the Hessentag.

+++ 10:54 a.m.: At the Hessentag in the morning, state politics will come into focus. The Green Party parliamentary group has been meeting publicly in the Marble Hall since 10:30 a.m. The public parliamentary group meetings of the SPD (Hotel Esperanto), CDU (Fürstensaal), FDP (RhönEnergie-Forum) and AfD (Kanzlerpalais) will follow at 11 a.m. Visitors have the opportunity to follow the parties' deliberations up close.

Hesse's Prime Minister Boris Rhein (CDU) will not attend Hessentag today because of a bereavement in the family. This was said at the beginning of the public meeting of the Hesse CDU in the Prince's Hall of the city palace.

Unsettled weather on Tuesday – police remind people of drone ban

Update from June 16, 10:36 a.m.: The Hessentag in Fulda gets off to a mixed start on Tuesday. According to the German Weather Service, individual thunderstorms are already moving across Hesse in the morning. The risk continues to increase as the day progresses: strong local thunderstorms with heavy rain, hail and stormy gusts are possible, particularly in the afternoon and evening. Some severe weather developments cannot be ruled out for East Hesse either. In between, the weather is cloudy to very cloudy, with showery rain falling again and again.

According to the statement, the officers only had to intervene in isolated cases – for example in the event of a dispute or a reported insult. Alcohol often played a role. Given the large number of visitors to the event areas, the police praise the considerate behavior of the guests.

The East Hesse Police Headquarters also reminds you that there is a ban on drones on the entire Hessentag site. Only the police are allowed to use drones there if necessary – recognizable by a blue flashing light.

Drones usually offer important support in emergencies, such as searching for missing people, confusing operational situations or fires. However, they are now also used extensively by the emergency services, the fire brigade, in agriculture and in the hobby sector. However, carrying or using drones and control devices is prohibited at Hessentag. Only the police are allowed to fly their drones over the site for security reasons. However, these are also specially equipped with blue lights.

During Hessentag, visitors can still try to control the small, maneuverable propeller machines through an obstacle course. This is located in the Blaulichtmeile at St.-Laurentius-Straße 4, at the DRK stand. There you can try your hand at the drone parkour every day from 10 a.m.

Talk at the FZ and concert with Tobias Sammet

As usual, the FZ-Hessentagstalk will take place at 2 p.m. in the pavilion of the Parzeller media group (right next to the Ferris wheel). Today in conversation on the Blue Couch: Stefan Petrasch, physiotherapist from Hünfeld (at 2 p.m.) and Fulda's police chief Michael Tegethoff (at 2:30 p.m.). At 4 p.m. the Torgranate colleagues invite you to their quiz.

Musically, the Hessentag on day 5 is firmly in the hands of the local heroes: Tobias Sammet and his metal project Avantasia will rock in front of the cathedral from 8 p.m. At 7 p.m. the Mambo Kingx will put you in a good mood in the Police Bistro.
