The discounter Tedi has currently withdrawn the hot air fryer (Airfryer) “Elta 3.2 L Model: AF-3202 Item number: 594060071310000003000 from sale after research by RTL and initiated a nationwide recall. The company confirmed to RTL that quality defects had been found in the product. The item was then “immediately withdrawn from sale and a recall initiated,” said the Tedi press office.
The recall was triggered by product tests by the magazine “RTL EXTRA”, which will be broadcast next Tuesday, June 16th at 10:15 p.m. In it, RTL reporters and experts found damage to the internal wiring of said hot air fryers, which in the worst case could lead to a risk of fire and/or injury. The journalists also found a temperature controller with no apparent technical function in the device. As a precautionary measure, further use of the device is not recommended. According to Stiftung Warentest, the device should also be removed from the socket immediately.

According to the company, the matter is currently being examined internally and processed together with the supplier. The company rejects any connection between a previous price reduction and the defects identified. The price reduction was made for commercial reasons as part of a change in the product range.
The product was sold in Teddy stores from February 4, 2025 to June 3, 2026. The hot air fryer can be returned or exchanged at any store for a refund of the sales price of 30 euros or for another item. Since the device has been available since February 2025, numerous customers could be affected.
