According to a statement from the city of Bad Soden-Salmünster, the clothing container belonging to a private provider at the Palmusacker in Salmünster will be removed. This serves as a “measure against increasing littering in the urban area”.
Salmünster – The city reports that there has been repeated significant amounts of litter at the Palmusacker/Weinstrasse junction in recent months. In addition to illegally dumped bulky waste, clothes bags were repeatedly torn out of the used clothing containers and distributed around the site.

The development increasingly placed strain on the operator and the appearance of the urban area. “We experience This littering not only in our city, but across the board in many municipalities. This is a structural problem that has become increasingly visible in recent months,” explains Mayor Dominik Brasch.
A nationwide legal change also contributes to the high volumes thrown into used clothing containers: Since From January 1, 2025, old textiles may no longer be disposed of with residual waste. However, this does not apply to worn, heavily soiled or no longer usable textiles, says the city administration.
